Hot dipped galvanized ring-shank nails
That's a mouthful, but it really does make a difference. All our nails are galvanized so they won't rust. That means no drippy rusty spots. No rusting and breaking. All our nails are ring-shank meaning they have ridges so once they're driven into the wood, they do not loosen up. |
Most others don't even mention their nails because there's not much to talk about. They'll rust and eventually break.
You may see someone claim they have "coated" nails. This is not the same as hot dipped galvanized. Galvanized nails are the standard by which other types of coatings are compared. |
Flooring System
Our floors are made of pressure treated, 5/8" tongue-in-groove plywood. Tongue-in-groove assures a solid, strong, unified floor. Our pressure treated 2"x6" floor joists are set on 16" centers. Floor joists are then secured into notched-out pressure treated 4"x6" runners. The flooring system is then linked together using steel hurricane ties and hot-dipped galvanized ring-shank nails, creating a rock-sold foundation for your new building. All wood components in our buildings are covered with a 25 year warranty. |
Almost all other floors are made of engineered wood products. You might find someone using plywood, but likely it's not as thick as our 5/8" and it's not going to be pressure treated. The flooring that is used most is called LP and is recognized by its pressed wood look. They now produce a coated version that claims to give extra protection and it may, but mostly it covers up the pressed wood that indicates an inferior flooring product. This product comes with a 5 year warranty against delamination. Many builders use 2"x4"s for their floor joists, and again, most are not pressure treated. Check the floor joist spacing. You'll find 24" spacing to be the norm. Nobody uses hurricane ties like Graceland does.

2"x4" Lumber
All boards used in the framing of our buildings are full dimension 2"x4". That's the wall and ceiling framing, not the floor which uses 2"x6". Our doors are fully framed with 2"x4"s. |
Many builders use a smaller size of lumber to frame their buildings than full 2"x4". Bigger is better when it comes to framing materials.

Ventilation System
Graceland's patented soffit ventilation system runs the full length down each side of your building. Ridge vents run the full length of the roof along the peak of the roof. This exclusive ventilation system draws air from the soffit vents and out the ridge vents, pulling heat and moisture out of your building, keeping it significantly cooler and reducing opportunities for mold to form. Graceland is the only building on the market with this exceptional ventilation system! |
Some sheds on the market have small holes at each end of their building with a vent plate over them. Some have individual vents in the ceiling. Other builders do have partial ridge vents and a very few have full ridge vents. What you won't find in other buildings are soffit vents. You need this flow of air to maximize cooling and moisture extraction.
